Experimental Works Inspired by Nature
“And into the forest I go….to lose my mind and find my soul”
In Sujata’s words…“These are recent experimental works. To me forests symbolise the harmony of nature, the beauty of impermanence and the resilience of life. In my forest series. I combine the tactile qualities of collage, real leaves, and varied textures. Delicate leaves, are intricately arranged to form the foliage of trees. Textured elements like rough burlap, net, crunchy twigs, the roughness of bark and the softness of moss, have been incorporated. I work intuitively to portray the mystery and wonder that I have experienced. These are spontaneous works, with which I strive to capture the essence of the forest’s mystique. By blending traditional painting techniques with these natural materials, I hope to inspire a deeper appreciation for the natural world and our place in it.”
